Turkana Jade
Lake Turkana is an alkaline lake in the East African Rift; its waters glow jade green under the sun. Fossils nearly 3 million years old found on its shores earned it the name "Cradle of Humankind." For the Turkana people, the lake is a miracle of life in aridity.
