Australian Ochre

Eucalyptus Green represents Australia's most typical natural landscape. With over 700 species, their gray-green leaves form the unique color palette of the Australian continent. Koalas feed on eucalyptus leaves, making this green a symbol of Australian wildlife.

Siena Earth comes from natural ochre in Siena, Italy. During the Renaissance, Siena rivaled Florence for centuries in art and politics. Siena's warm, transparent ochre was a Renaissance favorite. Leonardo da Vinci used it extensively in "The Last Supper." The distinction between raw sienna and burnt sienna—calcined for deeper, redder tones—remains standard on artist palettes today.

Dutch Orange is the Netherlands' most visible national color, from King's Day to football fans' shirts. It comes from William I, Prince of Orange, who led Dutch independence in the 16th century. On King's Day, Amsterdam streets flood with orange.

During World War II paper shortages forced Hermès to replace its original cream packaging with surplus orange card stock. The accidental substitution became the brand's most iconic identifier; today an orange Hermès bag signals luxury and taste.

The Dala horse is Sweden's most famous handicraft, painted in bright orange, red, and green with floral saddle patterns. The color comes from 17th-century winter craft in Dalarna, where farmers carved horses for children during long nights.

In 1925 Le Creuset introduced its first flame-orange enamel cocotte in Fresnoy-le-Grand, inspired by the glow of molten cast iron. The orange turned cookware into heirloom art, and Flame remains the brand's best-selling color.
