Moroccan Green

Moroccan Green is an important Islamic symbol. In Islam, green was the Prophet Muhammad's favorite color—he often wore green robes and turbans. Hassan II Mosque's green-tiled minaret stands 210 meters tall. Al-Qarawiyyin University in Fez (world's oldest continuously operating university) also uses extensive green tiles. Moroccan artisans developed unique "zellige" mosaic techniques, cutting green tiles into stars, crosses, and polygons for stunning geometric patterns.
